This
tour is available between the months of October and April. We
suggest the following itinerary, but for those seeking a more
in-depth experience or who are interested in visiting the region's
capital city Coyhaique, extra days can be added. |

| Day
1: Lago General Carrera. Arrival at the Balmaceda airport,
where you will be met by our guides. We will depart for Lago General
Carrera - South America's second-largest lake - along one of the
world's most scenic and spectacular roads. Along the way, we will
stop for a gourmet picnic and for frequent stretching and photography.
In the evening we arrive at a one of the finest lodges on the
lake, and later enjoy a delicious dinner. |

Day
2: Lago General Carrera.
Today we will explore the varied and beautiful landscapes around
the southern end of Lago General Carrera. We can have a relaxing
day and travel by 4x4 vehicle or make it more active by hiking
or horseback riding.
Day
3: Cochrane. Venturing further south into this rarely
visited area of Patagonia, we explore the exotic and beautiful
scenery along the Baker River, the cowboy (gaucho) town of Cochrane,
and the wide open valleys of the Chacabuco where we will more
than likely see herds of wild guanaco. We will return to Lago
General Carrera and our cozy lakeside lodge.
Day
4: Lago General Carrera and Balmaceda. A
relaxing morning at the lodge, or, if we decide to explore the
area, there is still plenty of time for an early morning hike
or drive to another great location. In the afternoon we will drive
or fly by private charter directly to the Balmaceda airport for
our flight back to Santiago.

Accommodations
for the trip are at the finest lodges in the region, and all food
is first rate. We travel by private vehicles, and the days are
customized to your interests and needs, within the constraints
of time and weather. Group size is limited to a maximum of six
unless arranged well in advance. The program includes:
