Departing
Santiago we will make a stop in Pirque, the
heart of the Maipo Valley for a visit to one
of the many wineries. We will continue traveling up Cajón
del Maipo and we will check into the cozy Refugio
Lo Valdes, a perfect place to relax and enjoy the afternoon.
Later, we will drive into the mountains for a soak in the natural
hot springs of Baños Colina. Surrounded
by Andean peaks, the hot springs make for a spectacular setting.
Returning to the Refugio we will have dinner and prepare for
our hike the following day in El Morado.
On day
2 we begin our hike at Baños Morales,
heading toward Laguna El Morado in the National
Park. After a picnic lunch here, we then continue up the trail
until we arrive at the San Francisco Glacier.
This tour involves 6 hours of moderate hiking.
