Corcoran
Gallery is a “garden” winery in the "Alto"
Maipo Valley (DO San Juan de Pirque), which evolved from the
owners’ passion to emulate a unique terroir in one’s
daily living. Madeline Corcoran and partner/winemaker Javier
Rodriquez, have 1 acres of 35 year-old Cabernet Sauvignon vines
planted at an elevation of 1,700 feet a.s.l. The vineyard is
100% organically managed, harvested by hand and micro vinified.
A visit
to Corcoran Gallery is an intimate experience with the owners
in which you will experience great Chilean food, wine and hospitality
in a beautiful setting surrounded by the Andes mountains. Visits
to Corcoran Gallery are arranged exclusively through Santiago
Adventures.

The
garden vineyard is on a privileged terrace in the Andes mountains.
Warm days and cool nights, with a 50 degree fluctuation between
daytime and nighttime temperatures in the summer, complemented
by meticulous organic winemaking practices using French and American
oak barrels results in an unforgettable wine with intense aromas
of red fruits, chocolate, hints of balsamic and eucalyptus with
an abundance of elegant tannins. |

|
|
Your tour
begins with a morning departure from your hotel and you will
drive south along the foothills of the Andes. Your guide will
will share with you some of the history of the Maipo Valley,
the oldest and most famous of Chile’s wine valleys. More
importantly though you will hear about the exciting new boutique
wineries emerging in in the region called the "Alto"
Maipo or High Maipo. We will make a stop at one of these newer
wineries such as Aquitania, Anityal, Almaviva or Perez Cruz.
We will
then make our way to Corcoran Gallery in the Maipo Canyon where
we will be met by our hosts, Madeline (she is originally from
the US) and Javier. They will introduce us to their boutique
vineyard and magnificent views of the Andes. From there, we
learn and see their specialized organic processing techniques.
Tasting will begin and continue through our delicious lunch
surrounded by their beautiful gardens.
